Internet performance measurement service Keynote Systems announced Tuesday that it acquired Toronto-based Streamcheck, a company that measures streaming-media performance. Streamcheck's service will be incorporated into Keynote's core measurement services and relaunched later in 2003 as Streaming Perspective 3.0, according to Keynote. The infrastructure of the two companies also will be integrated. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Business news provider MarketWatch.com said on Wednesday that it plans to buy Pinnacor, formerly known as ScreamingMedia, in a $103.2 million deal that will unite the companies' financial products. MarketWatch, the parent of CBS MarketWatch, said a new company would be formed to combine the two businesses, and it expected Pinnacor, which provides data, investment analysis tools and other services, to bring "several hundred new customers" to the table.
