12/16/2004, Broadband Wireless Business Magazine CellularOne Orders Ceragon's Radios CellularOne of Arizona has ordered approximately $1.3 million worth of fixed wireless equipment from Ceragon Networks Ltd. The equipment will be used to expand CellularOne's service to its rural customers, enabling cellular backhaul and broadband wireless access applications. CellularOne's network will use Ceragon's FibeAir 1500P radio, which will provide OC-3 speeds, as well as connectivity over distances of up to 26 miles. The system will operate over the 18 GHz frequency band. CellularOne's network will also use Ceragon's FibeAir 4858 system for operation in an unlicensed band. The FibeAir 4858 will be used to provide Ethernet and T-1 connections. The deployment of Ceragon's equipment is expected to begin before the end of the month.

The grants purpose is to deliver Broadband Internet Access to Wellton, Arizona. Wellton is a small town located in Yuma County, Arizona with a population of 1829 people according to the 2000 census.
The grant will provide funding for the implementation of a broadband telecommunications network. The network will provide the Town of Wellton with broadband access to major Internet Service Providers (ISP's) and Application Service Providers (ASP's) located in Phoenix, Arizona.
